What is Auxilot?
Auxilot is an online auction platform. Registered business sellers (merchants) list lots in timed auctions, and registered bidders compete for them in real time from any device. The highest bid that meets the seller's reserve wins.
What can I buy on Auxilot?
Lots include vehicles, property, machinery and equipment, electronics, jewellery, art and collectibles, and general goods. What is available depends on the auctions that sellers are running at the time.
Who sells on Auxilot?
Lots are listed by registered businesses, such as dealers, banks, leasing companies and asset managers. Every lot is reviewed and approved before it is published.
Can I use Auxilot outside Uganda?
You can browse and bid from anywhere. Lots are located where the seller says in the listing, and you are responsible for collecting the lot and for any transport, import duties or taxes in your country.
Do I need an account to bid?
Yes. Registration is free. You give your personal or business details, ID details and supporting documents, and accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Each sign-in uses your password and a one-time code (OTP).
Why do I have to pay a deposit?
Each lot needs a refundable bidding deposit before you can bid on it. It keeps bidding serious. The amount is shown on the lot page, and bidding opens for you once your deposit is approved. A deposit covers one lot only.
What happens to my deposit?
If you do not win, the deposit is returned to you within 3–5 days after the auction closes. If you win, it is credited against your invoice and you pay only the balance. If you win and do not pay your invoice on time, the deposit may be forfeited.
Are bids binding?
Yes. Every bid, including each step a proxy bid makes for you, is a binding offer to buy the lot at that price. Only bid what you intend and are able to pay.
How much do I have to bid?
Bids go up in fixed steps that depend on the current price and the lot's currency. The lot page always shows the minimum next bid, and you can bid that amount or more.
What is a proxy (maximum) bid?
You set the most you are willing to pay, and the system bids for you one step at a time, only when someone outbids you, up to your maximum. Other bidders never see your maximum. You can win for less than your maximum if nobody pushes the price up.
What is a reserve price?
The reserve is the lowest price the seller will accept. It is kept secret: you only see whether the reserve has been met. If your proxy maximum is at or above the reserve, your proxy bids straight up to the reserve so the reserve is met. If bidding ends below the reserve, the lot is not sold at that price.
What happens if two people bid the same amount?
The bid placed first wins. This rule is the same for manual bids and proxy bids, so setting your maximum early can matter.
Can the auction end while I am still bidding?
Not in the last moments. Any bid in the final 5 minutes extends the closing time by 5 minutes, so everyone has a fair chance to respond.
How will I know if I have been outbid?
You get an instant alert on screen while you are signed in, an Outbid badge on the lot and in My Bids, and a message in your notifications. Near the end of the auction we send one reminder if you are not winning.
Which currency do I bid in?
Each lot has one currency, such as UGX or USD, and all bids, deposits and the invoice for that lot use it. There is no currency conversion during bidding.
Can I cancel a bid?
No. Bids cannot be withdrawn once placed. If you think a bid was placed in error, contact us straight away, but we cannot promise to cancel it.
Can I inspect a lot before bidding?
Inspection depends on the seller and is described in the listing. Lots are sold as seen, so read the description and documents, and ask about inspection before you bid, especially for vehicles, property and equipment.
What happens when I win?
You get a winning notice and an invoice. The invoice shows the hammer price (your winning bid), the buyer's premium, VAT on the premium at the rate for that market, your deposit credit and the balance due.
What is the buyer's premium?
A fee added to the hammer price on every winning lot. The rate is shown on the invoice (currently 10% of the hammer price, plus VAT on the premium).
When do I have to pay?
By the due date on your invoice, currently 3 days after the auction closes. Quote the invoice number as your payment reference.
How can I pay?
The payment options available for a lot, such as mobile money and bank transfer, are shown when you pay your deposit and on your invoice. They can differ by country and currency.
What if I don't pay on time?
The invoice may be cancelled, your deposit forfeited, and your account restricted from future bidding.
How do I get my lot?
After your payment is confirmed, you arrange collection with the seller at the location in the listing. The seller receives the winner's contact details for this. Auxilot does not deliver lots.
Can someone else collect or transport it for me?
Yes. You can use any transport provider you choose. Transport, insurance and any risk after handover are your responsibility, so inspect the lot when you collect it.
Who can see my details?
Other bidders never see who you are. Sellers see bidders only under a pseudonym (for example BD-3F9A1C). When you win, the seller of that lot receives your contact details so you can arrange payment and collection. See our Privacy Policy for more.
I did not receive my one-time code. What should I do?
Wait a minute and request a new code. Check that your phone number and email in your account are correct. If it still does not arrive, contact us.
How do I reset my password?
Choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and follow the steps. You will need access to your registered email or phone to confirm it is you.
Can I have more than one account?
No. One account per person or business. Duplicate accounts used to bid against yourself or to get around a restriction will be closed.
How do I close my account?
Contact us. Bids you have already placed and invoices you owe still have to be completed. We keep some records after closure where the law requires it.
